On January 9th, 2017, Steve Malik officially brought the North Carolina Courage back to Cary, North Carolina! Four quick months later, their first season was underway.
A year later, we realized this wonderful team of powerful women, needed an independent supporters group of its own, a community of people who will show up week in and week out to express their unwavering support for our local club and the beautiful game.
We proudly take on the name, The Junkyard Dogs. If you followed the team in 2017, it may sound familiar; it’s a term given to the players by our very own, coach, Paul Riley. We asked, and were given permission to use it from the man himself.
A Junkyard Dog is all grit, a Junkyard Dog breathes tenacity, exudes confidence, a Junkyard Dog embodies COURAGE, every step of the way.
Our job is to emulate this mentality off the pitch, and to make them proud.
